My VoIP phone is not working
Your Grandstream adapter is the box that connects your home phone to the internet.
Your internet MUST be working for the phone to work.
First, open two websites using your home Wi-Fi. On a phone, turn mobile data off briefly.
If the websites do not open, use Article: My internet stopped working. If they are slow or keep losing connection, use Article: My internet is slow.
Once your internet is verified:
1. Check the adapter's plugs. Make sure it has power. Check the Ethernet cable between the router's LAN port and the adapter's internet port. Follow the port labels in your setup instructions.
2. Check the phone. Plug it into the adapter's assigned Phone port. For a cordless phone, check that the base has power and the handset is charged.
3. Restart the adapter. Unplug its power for 30 seconds. Plug it back in and wait a few minutes. Do not press Reset.
4. Try calling out and calling in. Call a regular number from your home phone. Then call your home number from a mobile phone. Never call 9-1-1 to test the phone.
5. Check the sound or ringer. If it does not ring, check the ringer volume and Do Not Disturb. If voices break up, pause downloads and streams. Try another phone cable or phone if you have one.
For these checks, connect the phone directly to the adapter. Ask us before connecting the adapter to a telephone wall jack.
During a power or internet outage, this phone - including 9-1-1 - may not work. Use another available phone in an emergency.
